- Are my presentations uploaded to a server?
- The decks are drawn in your browser, and their text, layout and chart data are sent to our server to be compared. Pictures, videos and embedded files are not uploaded — a fingerprint of each is sent instead, so a replaced picture is still detected. Files are processed for the comparison and not kept.
- Does it check the numbers in tables and charts?
- Yes. Table cells are compared cell by cell, with inserted rows and columns aligned so the rest of the table does not shift. Charts are compared on their data: every series and data point, with numbers compared as numbers, so 12.5 and 12.50 are the same value.
- What if slides were reordered?
- Slides are matched by their content, so a slide that moved is reported once as moved — with any edits made to it — rather than as deleted in one place and added in another.
- Which file formats are supported?
- PowerPoint .pptx files (PowerPoint 2007 and newer), including macro-enabled .pptm, slide shows (.ppsx) and templates (.potx). Legacy .ppt files need to be re-saved as .pptx first.
- Are speaker notes compared?
- Yes, as text. You can switch them off, along with formatting, to compare slide content only.
